Day by Day

 

We will pick you up from your hotel around 7:30 am. After being familiar with the guide, and chef will then drive to Tarangire national park (2hr drive) famous for its diverse landscape. The park is particularly known for the abundance of Ancient Baobab trees & having the largest concentration of elephants in the whole country and provides unique chances to observe the interaction between elephant families. We will do a game drive through the park depending on where they are reported sightings of animals (mostly predators, lions, cheetahs & leopards as they are harder to spot) as herbivores (giraffes, wildebeest, zebras, etc are plenty to see through the park.

After breakfast, you will drive from Mto wa mbu (7:15 am) to Serengeti taking about 8 hours (all stops included) as you transit through the Ngorongoro Conservation.

You will briefly stop at the Ngorongoro Crater gate and viewpoint to look at the breathtaking view of the crater.
Duration: 20 minutes

You can have an optional visit to a Maasai village and explore the culture of the great Maasai tribe. They’re known for chasing lions off their kill, hunting lions to be considered a warrior, and drinking raw animal blood. Though these traditions are a thing of the past with exception of drinking blood, you can surely learn something.

Serengeti National Park
Arrive late in the afternoon and do a game drive in Seronera (center of Serengeti) till late noon. You’ll experience the sunset in the Serengeti while having a close view of wild animals.

On this day will go too far parts of the Serengeti north/ south/east/west depending on wildlife movements, so after an early breakfast will go on an early game drive, we will later have lunch and continue the game drive to evening then return to the campsite for dinner & overnight stay
note; animals can be spotted on campsites.

Seronera, Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast will go on an early game drive seeing a lot of animals till the afternoon where will head to camp for lunch and pack doing a game drive while we exit the Serengeti heading to Simba campsite (2hrs drive) near the rim of Ngorongoro crater.
note; animals can be spotted on campsites.

Ngorongoro Crater, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Arusha Region
After an early breakfast will descend the crater (6:15 am) on a journey to find the black rhino, rhinos are the hardest to spot in the beautiful crater as most animals will be easier to spot from this park due to it being a floor crater
After lunch will do a game drive and ascend the crater to camp and pack for the trip back to Arusha for dinner and overnight or drive you to the airport.

If you’re uncertain about when you’ll be able to travel in the future, you can convert your existing payments to credit. This way you won’t lose any of your money to potential cancellation fees. We’ll keep your money safe and you’ll be able to book your tour when you’re ready.

  • Cancellation

Cancellation of a booking or failure to join a tour will result in a retention of funds by Kanje grand tours. As follows: Upon receipt of written cancellation by any member of the tour indicated on this reservation 30 days or longer prior to departure, 20% of the reservation of the cancelling party will be retained by Great Lake Expedition and the balance of the package price refunded. If a cancellation is received at least 14 days and up to 29 days prior to departure, 50% of the package price will be retained by Great Lake Expedition. If a cancellation is received less than 14 days prior to departure, 100% of the total package price will be retained by Great Lake Expedition and all outstanding payment will become payable immediately. Should the cancelling party be able to find a replacement for themselves no less than 14 days prior to departure and the replacement completes this booking form individually, no retention of funds will take place. However, should no replacement be found by 14 days prior to departure, a 100% cancellation penalty will apply to the canceling party. Great Lake Expedition and its agents reserve the right to terminate, at their discretion and with immediate effect, the participation of any person on the tour
